TV Reviewlet: John Adams

So I know I'm late to this game, but it is impressive that the new television show with the biggest buzz currently is not a reality show or mindless comedy with a pneumatic starlet, but instead, a show entitled simply John Adams, with a bald awkward looking star, and a plain wife, about the second president of the United States, a man who typically merits only a footnote in the history books, but really deserves more.

Having a free hour, for the first time in a while, I finally saw the first episode, and was impressed. It started with John Adams defending the British soldiers accused of killing 5 in the "Boston massacre" from the American mob, right before John Adams would become a leading figure in the American Revolution against British authority. The show demonstrated his sense of justice and his intellectual capacity, as well as his impressive wife Abigail, who through her letters we see was his intellectual equal.

Reminded me of one of my favorite documentaries: Liberty: The American Revolution. But kinda nice to be stirred by history every once in a while.
